Kathmandu; Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has signed an agreement with Andritz Hydro Pvt Ltd aiming to control the Kulekhani reservoir-based projects, while strengthening the protection system of the reservoir.

According to the agreement inked between the authority and the private company on Monday, Andritz Hydro has to work on improving the control and safety system of the 60 MW Kulekhani I and 32 MW Kulekhani II projects based on the Kulekhani reservoir.

Under the provision, Andritz Hydro will provide the latest 'Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA)', comprehensive security systems, vibration monitoring system, necessary spare parts for the project and all related ancillary services.

Andritz Hydro in this regard will also provide necessary onsite training to the NEA's engineers. The international company is said to be providing these services to the Nepali projects from various locations of both Nepal and India.
