Both the power transformers at the 132/11 KV Bharatpur substation at Baseni in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan have come into operation. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has also supplied electricity to industries in Bharatpur area from Sunday evening after the transformers became fully operational.

One of the two transformers at the substation had problems on October 30 and the other one on November 2. NEA had removed the damaged transformer and connected the 22.5 MVA capacity transformer in the substation to supply electricity to the domestic consumers from Thursday. The normal power supply started after 36 hours by connecting a new transformer.

A 22.5 MVA capacity transformer at Lekhnath substation in Kaski has been brought and connected to Bharatpur substation to resume supply of power in the region from Sunday evening.

As the capacity of the substation is now 45 MVA, there is no problem in supplying electricity to all consumers including industrialists, said Rajiv Kumar Singh, Head of NEA's Distribution and Customer Service Center in Bharatpur.

According to Singh, installation work of a 15-MVA capacity transformer has started at 132/11 KV substation in Aaptari. Three feeders have been removed from the substation for power supply.
