Kathmandu; Nepali hydropower companies secure 12.8 percent share in the market capitalization at Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse). According to the Nepse, it listed 87 hydropower companies as of mid-October this year. They held one-eighth portion out of the total market capitalization worth Rs 2.861 trillion.

Nepse listed 263 companies as of mid-October this year, up from 242 a year ago. There are 134 banks and financial institutions and insurance companies listed at the country’s only stock exchange market. They secured 63.7 percent in the market capitalization, largest of all.

Nepse listed new stocks worth Rs 35.77 billion in the first three months of the current fiscal year. Of the amount registered for the listing at the Nepse included general shares worth Rs 32.03 billion, bonus shares worth Rs 2.54 billion and right shares of Rs 1.20 billion. Likewise, corporate debenture worth Rs 3.20 billion and mutual fund schemes worth Rs 2.50 billion received approval during the review period.
