Substation Construction In Final Stage Of Completion

The construction of 132/33/ 11 kV substation in Banganga Municipality-7 of Kapilvastu and Sandhikharka of Arkhakhanchi has reached the final stage.

The construction work is underway with the aim of bringing Motipur of Kapilvastu and Sandhikharka of Arghakhanchi into operation by end November and end December, respectively, according to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The final phase of construction is underway at Motipur and Sandhikharka substations under the Burtiwang-Paudi Amarai-Tamghas-Sandhikharka Gorusinge 132 kV transmission line project.

The substation will have 30 and 16 MVA power transformers. All the equipment of the substations are being connected and tested.
The East-West 132 KV line will be constructed in eight towers and taken to Motipur substation. The tower has been constructed for this and the wire is being pulled.

The foundations of 106 towers on the Motipur-Sandhikharka transmission line under the project have been laid. A total of 87 towers have been installed and 12 kilometres of wire has been pulled.

The length of transmission line of this section is 68 kilometres. Work is underway to complete the construction of the transmission line within December this year and bring it into operation.

After the construction of Motipur-Sandhikharka transmission line and substations comes into operation, electricity will be supplied to the local area from there.

From this, power supply of Kapilvastu, Argharkhachi, Palpa and Gulmi districts will be reliable and quality. Technical leakage of electricity will also be reduced, said NEA.

At present, electricity is being supplied to Argharkhachi, Palpa and Gulmi through 33 kV transmission line from Butwal. When the 33 kV transmission line is very long, there is a problem of line tripping and flashing of voltage.

After monitoring the construction site of Motipur substation and transmission line, managing director of NEA Kul Man Ghising said that the work should be completed ahead of schedule.

"I have received many complaints directly from Arghakhanchi, Palpa and Gulmi districts saying that the power has been lost. So, the construction of substations and transmission lines should be completed as soon as possible to provide quality and reliable electricity to the consumers."

After the construction of substations and transmission line, the industries in the region can be supplied with electricity as per their need, he said.

Meanwhile, MD Ghising inspected the Tanahun Hydropower Project on Sunday.

While inspecting, Ghising has underscored the need to work honestly to complete the construction work in time.
He said that the project can be completed in time if all the employees and workers work in tandem.
