Kathmandu; Dr Bhupendra Kumar Singh, an energy expert of South Asia, was honored by the Independent Power Producers’ Association (IPPAN), Nepal during the 3rd Himalayan Hydro Expo held on April 2-4 in Kathmandu with presence of President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

Singh is the head of the Department of Energy Security at the Confederation of Indian Industry. The expert of energy promotion in the South Asia has also been working for the promoting cross-border power trade between India and Nepal.  

He is a PhD graduate on India’s Energy Security from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He had played an instrumental role for facilitating power trade agreement between Nepal and India, which was inked between the two countries in October 2014.
