Hydropower Developers Donating Rs 130 Million for Bhotekoshi Flood Victims

Kathmandu: Hydropower developers are contributing more than Rs 130 million to the ‘Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund’ for the rescue and relief of those affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.
Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN) and its affiliated organizations have come up with the aforementioned amount as a way to replenish the huge loss of life and property caused by the floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and other districts. According to the IPPAN, over Rs 130 million has been collected in a joint effort from various hydropower promoters, energy entrepreneurs, hydropower companies and related groups and it will be handed over to the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha on Tuesday.
IPPAN stated that the energy sector entrepreneurs have collectively raised this assistance to give respite to the flood victims in the wake of the huge loss of life and property due to the catastrophe last Wednesday.
