Kathmandu: Rescue teams searching for missing staff and workers at the flood-hit 37 MW Upper Trishuli-3 ‘B’ Hydropower Project in Nuwakot have found no wreckage of the residential buildings.

The project’s staff quarters in Rasuwapani, Kispang Rural Municipality-4, were excavated after the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood on August 26 swept away buildings and other structures at the site.

According to Trishuli Hydropower Company Limited, excavators, JCBs, breakers and other equipment were used to search the office buildings and residential blocks A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and D. Only damaged concrete, iron pieces and other debris were recovered, while large boulders carried by the flood were also found at the site.

The search and rescue operation is continuing to determine the whereabouts of the unaccounted staff and workers.
