Kathmandu; K&A Engineering Consulting P.C (K&A) and Institute of Engineering (IOE) Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuwan University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on December 15, 2021. The MoU focuses on the cooperation for skill development and research facilitation in the field of electrical engineering through internship, placement and research and innovation services. K&A and IOE expressed that the collaboration will promote more effective use of their resources and provide them with enhanced opportunities.
K&A is a full-service engineering firm transforming the power industry specialized in electric power delivery and energy engineering services, including project management and construction management support services. The Company has its operational headquarter in White Plains, New York, USA. Established in 2016 by Mr Purna Kharel, a Non-Resident Nepali; it is a minority-owned Company and is known for employing passionate people with deep experience and delivering configurable solutions and superior service to its clients. The company has seen remarkable growth over the five-year with present employee strength of over 300 under the leadership of its President and CEO Mr Kharel. K&A Nepal Operation, registered in Nepal as an offshore US Company in 2019, supports the US operations with its 50 employees in the field of Substation Engineering, Distributed Energy Resources System Impact Study, Transmission Design, Design and Drafting for Distribution System and various high tech system simulation.
Established in 1972, Pulchowk Campus is the central campus of the Institute of Engineering under Tribhuwan University. It is considered as the center of excellence of engineering education in Nepal and offers bachelors and master’s courses, and Ph. D. programs in different areas of engineering.
The MoU was signed by the Dean of IOE Prof Shashidhar Ram Joshi and Mr Rishi Kesh Sharma, Director Nepal Operations of K&A. Campus Chief Dr Indra Prasad Acharya, Head of Electrical Department, Mr Mohamad Badrudoja, Deputy Head of Department MrAkhileshwor Mishra, Visiting Faculty Prof Dr Indra Man Tamrakar and representatives from K&A Nepal Operations were present in the signing ceremony.
